Celestina Novicum

Celestina Novicum

Celestina is a dream, the vision of another world of worlds. A long time ago, I painted abstracts but then stopped when I felt the conversation was no longer with others, but only with myself. I’ve returned to abstracts because I feel it has a new patron – and that for me, is Celestina.

Celestina is about the always, the never, the forever. This work evokes Alice down the rabbit hole “And What Alice Found There”… because as a painter, I paint what I see, what I know and what I believe – and I believe in the adventures of the rabbit hole and the lessons therein.

I use a circle form for these paintings because the circle is a sacred shape and like all cosmic bodies is efficient, perfect and intensely mysterious. The detail in each of these paintings is a search for meaning – like a private, intimate conversation on experience and summation.
